Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum one year of experience in academic counseling or advising.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of the university’s academic policies and curricula.
Experience advising college students in liberal arts programs.
Position Purpose
Provide academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students who are pursuing or plan to pursue an undergraduate degree program in the College of Arts and Sciences. This position will assist with advising projects and may maintain a student caseload as needed.
Job Duties
Provide academic advising to current and prospective undergraduate students who are pursuing or plan to pursue an undergraduate degree program in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Maintenance of student records, coordination, preparation and maintenance of transfer credit evaluations, preparation of newsletters and orientation program as well as group information sessions.
